Board the local ferry for excellent views of Ben Tre, established in the 19th century on the Tien River. Take in the bustling atmosphere of the market, where people sell fruit and other goods from small boats laden with merchandise, and participate in the action by tasting fresh watermelon and pineapple from one of the vendors. After lunch with the family for a tasting of home-brewed longan wine, followed by a lesson on how to catch an elephant ear fish, hop on a bike for a leisurely ride through the countryside, soaking up the rural ambiance as you pass small villages and farms. Finally, we will board the bus to drive to Can Tho to reach your accommodation. Once we arrive we can head out for dinner at the marvellous night market
This morning we will check out early ready for a scenic drive to the amazing Tra Su Mangrove Forest. At this peaceful, tranquil location we will pass through canals in the forest, to observe wading birds. Prepare to be dazzled by this enchanting place, filled with mossy green waterways lined with beautiful cajuput trees. Keep your eyes out for some of the amazing wildlife that abounds here including birds of paradise and storks.
we will drive to visit the impressive Ba Chua Xu temple set at the foot of the Sam Mountain. Once we have completed our visit here we will take a unique Xe Loi bicycle rickshaw trip through the surrounding villages. We will end at Ba Sa fish square before driving to Can Tho for our overnight stay.
Breakfast will be included at the stay. - Continue the journey on the Mekong River by boat with a morning visit the famous floating marked for afterwards to dock at a river bank restaurant. - Have a chance to see barbeque which is not for the faint hearted. - Enjoy the serene surroundings of the greenery near the Mekong River. - Visit a noodle workshop, where we have a fantastic chance to see how the Vietnamese produce rice papers and other products alike. - After a boat ride back to Can Tho, have lunch at a local restaurant.
