With a hot breakfast to prepare you for the day, you’ll be heading to one of the most beautiful places on Earth… a four hour car journey to Halong Bay awaits… It’s accented with a 24 hour stay on a traditional Junk Cruise in the myriad of shining emerald waters and thousands of natural, elegant rock formations atop the waves around it. You will arrive there around noon and board your junk, just in time for a gourmet lunch of fresh seafood as you set off into the natural wonder before you. By afternoon, the cruise will take you around some of Halong’s many islands and caves. You will even get the chance to take a refreshing swim in a sheltered white-sand beach in the Gulf of Tonkin (weather permitting). After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, the afternoon takes you to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign tourists. The tunnels, which span over 200km, played a critical role during the Vietnam War and were functioning underground cities that included trap doors, living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens.
Today you will take to the waves and the water once again, with a day trip up the Mekong Delta to explore the rich, beautiful culture and lush fluvial landscapes it offers.
It all starts with a drive to Cai Be and a trip to the Cai Be floating market, where the locals can be observed selling their wares from their little barges. For the afternoon, you will take a traditional rowboat deeper into the countryside, through iconic narrow canals to experience the luscious and enigmatic surroundings.
The cruise concludes in Vinh Long late afternoon, where your driver will meet you to take you back to hotel in Hochiminh City.
